Terms and Conditions

§1 Scope

1.1. These terms and conditions apply to all business relations between Welcome2Jordan, registered trade name of GerMarketing, Overwegwachter 4, 3034 KG Rotterdam, The Netherlands and buyers of our physical products (e.g. hardcover books) as well as digital content (e.g. eBooks) purchased through the Welcome2Jordan shop as well as third party websites and resellers (online and offline).

1.2. Our offer is aimed at consumers. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for personal, non-commercial use.

1.3. These general terms and conditions apply in the version that was accepted by the buyer at the time of the conclusion of the contract.

1.4. By using our website you also agree to our privacy policy. The present terms and conditions apply additionally to the purchase of our products.

§ 2 Conclusion of a Contract

2.1. The products shown do not represent a legally binding offer, but a non-binding online catalog.

2.2. To conclude a contract with Welcome2Jordan, you have to purchase one of our products via our online shop. By submitting your order, you make a binding declaration of intent to purchase the selected item at the displayed price and accept our terms and conditions.

§ 3 Prices, Shipping Costs, VAT

3.1. Book prices are subject to the legal book price fixing and are therefore not negotiable.

3.2. The prices include 9% Dutch VAT. 

3.3. Access and/or download to digital products is provided by email to the email address specified during checkout. No delivery fees apply for digital contents.

3.4. For physical products, shipping fees apply. The delivery fees vary according to the destination and can be found in the shipping information. Shipping fees may vary depending on the order total, the destination and promotions.

§ 4 Cancellation Policy

4.1. If you are based in the European Union (EU) or the UK: The statutory withdrawal period of 14 days applies to all physical products during which you can cancel your order without giving reasons. The period begins on the day on which the goods are received by the recipient or have been received by third parties (except carriers). If you are located outside the EU and the UK, there is no legal withdrawal period. If you change your mind after placing your order, please contact us.

4.2. In order to make use of your right of withdrawal (EU and UK only), please contact us through out contact form stating your order number. Goods already received must be returned to us within 14 days. Costs of the return shipment are at the expense of the buyer. The purchase price including the shipping costs for the initial delivery will be refunded in full within 10 working days after receipt of the return shipment. Refunds will be made to the payment method you used to purchase.

4.3. The right of withdrawal for printed books applies only to unused items, packed in their original covering. We cannot take back articles with traces of use.

4.4. There is no right to withdrawal or return for custom made products.

4.5. When purchasing our digital products, you agree that we will begin with the execution of the contract (provision of the access or download) before the expiry of the obligatory cancellation period and that you will therefore lose your right of withdrawal.

§ 5 Returns and Exchanges

5.1. For physical products, there is a legal obligation that allows you to cancel the order within 14 days of receipt of the order or receipt by third parties (except carriers) for EU and UK residents, without giving reasons. If the goods have not yet been shipped, you will receive a refund of the purchase price within 10 working days. If you have already received the goods, please send them back to us. After receipt of the return shipment, you will receive a refund of the purchase price within 10 days. The costs for the return shipment are to be paid by the buyer. If you are located outside the EU and the UK, there is no legal withdrawal period. If you change your mind after placing your order, please contact us.

5.2. Custom made products and digital contents cannot be withdrawn, returned or exchanged (see also § 4.4 and 4.5)

5.3. Despite careful quality controls, damage cannot be excluded. If you have received a damaged delivery, you can return it to us. You have the choice to receive a new delivery or to get a refund of the purchase price.

§ 6 Payment & Shipment

6.1. The dispatch of the products and/or provision of the download is only possible after receipt of the payment amount in full.

6.2. We accept the following payment methods: credit card (VISA, Master, American Express), Giropay, Sofortüberweisung, iDeal, Bancontact and Applepay. These are processed by the payment provider Stripe. We also accept payments via PayPal, which are processed by the provider PayPal. The general terms and conditions of the payment providers also apply. For payments by bank transfer (advance payment) please contact us.

6.3. Orders will be handled as soon as possible after receipt of payment. For delivery times, please see our information page on shipping.

§ 7 Ownership, Transfer and Resale to Third Parties

7.1. By purchasing our products (physical products as well as digital content) you only acquire a license for personal use of our content. Commercial use is not allowed.

7.2. By purchasing our products, you do not acquire ownership of our content. The ownership and copyright remains with Welcome2Jordan at all times.

7.3. When you purchase our digital products, you acquire a license to access, play and sometimes to download the content to your own device for personal, non-commercial use. You are not allowed to share the content with third parties.

7.4. By purchasing our books, eBooks and courses, you do not acquire ownership of the content. It is expressly forbidden to make the content available to third parties, to forward it, to reproduce it in any other way or to make it publicly available, either free of charge or against payment.

§ 8 Copyright

8.1. All our works are subject to copyright. The content on our website, social media channels, printed and digital books are intended for personal, non-commercial use only. It is expressly forbidden to copy, reproduce, change or forward our content in any way.

8.2. The copyright also refers to our brand: brand name and logo may not be copied without our written consent.

§ 9 Privacy

9.1. The protection of your personal data is very important to us. In our data protection declaration you will find further information on what data we store and how we process it.

9.2. In order to make a transaction in our shop, the privacy policy has to be accepted.

§ 10 Disclaimer

10.1. The information and recommendations contained on our website and in Welcome2Jordan’s travel guides have been compiled to the best of our knowledge and carefully checked. The use of our content and the implementation of the information and recommendations contained therein is expressly at your own risk. Liability claims against Welcome2Jordan and the author, which refer to damages of a material or immaterial nature caused by the use or non-use of the information provided or by the use of incorrect and/or incomplete information, are excluded.

10.2. Welcome2Jordan assumes no liability for damages caused by transmission errors, technical defects, malfunctions or interventions in the facilities of Internet service providers, as well as for damages (including incidental, special or consequential damages) resulting from the use of the website or the impossibility of use.

10.3. The use of links to third party providers is at your own risk. Welcome2Jordan is not responsible or liable for the content of third-party links.

10.4. For our recipes and food related content, our nutrition disclaimer applies. Any action taken, including the outcome of a recipe, information on your health, labels, domestic accidents etc are at your own discretion and risk.

§ 11 Applicable Law

11.1 Disputes between the user and Welcome2Jordan are subject to the jurisdiction of the court at Welcome2Jordan’s registered office. Only Dutch law is applicable.

§ 12 Severability Clause

12.1 In the event of any inaccuracies or ineffectiveness of one or more provisions of these terms and conditions, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
